Can anyone help?

Hello, it's only me asking if anyone can help...? I seem to have irritated Blogger with my use of photograph space and so every time I want to upload a photo into my sidebar or change my header it keeps telling me that I have "exceeded my photo upload quota" and for more information to look at the Blogger information page.

The Blogger info page suggests that I purchase more photo space? Has this happened to anyone else? Are you able to tell me what you did if this is the case, I don't want to have to purchase more space if I don't need to, but in the same breath I'd like to refresh my header and add pictures to my side bar etc. If you have had the same concern and solved it, or know anything about this can you let me know? I'd so very much appreciate any info you might have.

What led me to posting about this was me trying to spread the word about the lovely Lisa of Bobo Bun's Craft it Forward post. Do go and have a read and participate if you fancy. I love this idea, spreading the crafting joy xox Here's the photo link I wanted to pop in my sidebar but "Blogger said NO" !

Thanks in anticipation :o)

  1. Hello...this did happen and I did purchase more...it is not a lot of money and you will then have a huge amount of added space for photos. I tried to delete old photo.s but then when I went back to old posts...no pic.....just a blank with a big ! In it's place.soooooo I just caved.....but it gives you a lot.....for me it was worth it...I want to save all my old posts because it is like a journal of past experiences and I wasn't willing to lose that....hope it helps!!

  2. Not sure if it is the same thing, but Cuckoo had a problem that sounded like this about six months ago, I'm sure she sorted it in the end (without buying space) and it had something to do with the picassa album....then again, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and it's a different problem to hers, maybe worth emailing and asking her?

Hope Brighton is sunnier than here.....it's really drab and cold here....but better tomorrow?x

  3. Hi, I've just been admiring your gorgeous crocheted blankie in the previous post. It's one of the prettiest I've seen. Wonderful combination of colours.

As for your photo problem, I remember reading a similar problem on Scarlett Loves Elvis blogspot. Unfortunately, I can't remember what Scarlett did in the end. I've got a feeling that Faith above may not be barking up the wrong tree. Anyway, check that blog out. Hope you sort it. xx

  4. I'm afraid so and yes to the above. I had to purchase more space in the end....you know how much I like to take pictures (uhuh!) it's not a lot of money for the amount of space you get and if you delete any pictures then as Miss Holly said these will be gone forever - from your posts.

    I hope that helped?

  5. Can't add much more than the others. I am afraid. I did the deleting old blog headers etc it worked for a short while but then the problem came back. So I caved in and brought more space.

  6. Hi, I had the same problem very recently but I have a solution that only took me hours to find lol, but is totally free! I downloaded Picasa 3 onto my laptop, then transferred any new photos into it...Then I edit them etc and export them back into my lap top albums as it exports them at a smaller size which means that you can upload them onto your blog with no problems. As long as the photos are 800pixels or smaller, they don't count on your web album storage limit. Win WIn...I hope this works for you. xx

  8. I put my photos on Flickr. From there I can paste the html for them into Blogger. Guess I don't upload to Blogger therefore no filling up of space!

You do have to subscribe to Flickr Pro, though, but it's a small yearly amount and Flickr is excellent.

  10. Bit late with my comment but the biggest photo file I ever upload to Blogger is 600 x 600 pixels. I then fiddle the html code to have it show full size on my blog, but I'm told this isn't necessary with the new Blogger interface (which so far I'm managing to avoid). Scaling down your image files is the best way to save space *and* makes it much harder for folk to do anything with your pics if they pinch them. And think how often you've congratulated me on my photography, proof that for online usage scaling down doesn't equate to loss of image quality.

The easiest way to resize photos is Microsoft Office Picture Manager if you have it. It actually has a web large setting.
