A little break

It's time for me to face facts and take a break from blogging for the foreseeable future. I have realised that working 40 plus hours a week and juggling home life together with the other responsibilities I have, that I cannot blog for the moment. We are also in the throws of buying and selling homes and that has it's own stresses too.

It won't stop me creating though as I find this helps me to relax and reflect and think. There is therapy in those needles :o) I crocheted these toadstools and flowers for a yarn bombing project to take place in August at a children's hospice with the theme being Enid Blytons "The Faraway Tree" which sounds like it's going to be a magical experience for all the children.

I will be back to blog when the time permits and part of me feels sad, but a little relieved to say this temporary goodbye. I wanted to say a very big thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your comments and conversations we have had. They have meant a lot to me and I have felt really connected by our love of making and being creative together. I hope to have time to pop into some of your blogs and say hi and see what you have been up to.

Thank you to all of you who wished me well in my very first crochet a granny square class last Saturday, it went really well and all my nerves were calmed when each of the clever ladies finally produced a granny square! I think they were all chuffed with their achievements and happy to have learnt a brand new skill. Below are the results from their efforts x I love that they all came out differently despite all having a 4mm hook and DK yarn :o)

So, I shall bid you farewell until I return, you can always catch me over on Instagram where I will be sharing some of my life and makes xox

Take gentle care and enjoy the rest of the Spring and Summer to come

xox

  5. Dear Penny, it has been lovely exchanging comments with you, and reading your lovely blog. Don't fret. we will all be here when you come back; life takes over at times, and I have certainly been 'off plan' for the last couple of months and probably for the next couple too. Hope all goes well with your move, looking forward to renewing our acquaintanceship soon! Lxxxxxxx

  9. Your crochet is beautiful and I am so glad that your class went well. I hope that your house selling/buying goes really well, and I can totally understand you wanting to reduce the things that you have to do whilst you are dealing with that plus all that you normally have to handle. I love reading your blog and seeing what you get up to, so I hope that when things settle down you will be able to return. In the meantime I wish you all the best for a great house move and that life in general treats you well. Take care and see you again sometime. xx

  10. Does this mean I need to get to grips with Instagram then?! The Enid Blyton project looks wonderful. I loved those books as a child (and still do).
Hope the move goes well and things slow down a little. I'll miss your lovely blog but fingers crossed you'll be back again some time in the future. Have a great summer.

  11. I have such lovely memories of the Faraway tree books. They were the first books my daughter Aimee really engaged with when she was tiny. I read a chapter every night and I cherish the memory of Aimee bursting into tears at the end of the first book because it was over, and the look of sheer delight on her face when I explained that with a book you could go back to the beginning and read it again and again! The joy of books has never left her...
Lots of luck with all your ventures, Penny, I shall look forward to hearing about them when you return to Blogland, and I hope we can meet up for tea and cake at the Pavilion over the summer! xxx

  17. Enjoy your break, Penny - and yes, you will be missed. But sometimes it's a great relief to just let the blog lie dormant for a while. I hope to see you back sometime. Good luck with all your endeavours - and congrats to the new crocheters who produced those lovely granny squares! :)

  19. The thing you know is that this little world is always here, its fine to priorotise other things when need be....i know that my last 18 months of blogging has been so sporadic, I find it disappointing, but, its still there when I find a spare few minutes, or just need a bit if space from everything else. I will miss you Penny, but look forward to hearing about all the new things you get up to, your bargain finds, your lovely daughter and your move etc... Take care.x

  21. Olá amiga, passando para lhe deixar um carinho, e já estou te seguindo, beijokas
    http://www.titacarre.com

Amigo é coisa para se guardar Debaixo de sete chaves
    Dentro do coração
    amigo, eu volto
    A te encontrar
Qualquer dia, amigo, a gente vai se encontrar.
