Speechless

This weekend has left me speechless! This is the literal truth as I have entered the world of experiencing the inability to express myself witout physical pain. You guessed it yet ? I have a stonking chest infection with laryngitis to kill the vocal chords. It has made me contemplate what it means to me to have a voice and how I completely rely on speech for expression, needless to say I think I have entered my beloved A's world where quietness reigns with his choice of speech despite the unquietness of his feelings and thoughts. I see the lesson in this and will attempt to curb my excessive passion for speech (which can defnitely get me into trouble at times!)and be more reflective in this busy, noisy world.
Oh well, thats enough rambling ... back to the old fashioned remedy of crochet blankie (do you like te colours I made this with ?), lemsip, feeding a cold (see postcard i found in a junkshop last year)and sucking on Jakemans original throat sweets since 1907.

Winter must go now

I think a lot of people in the UK might agree with my need for the winter to wrap up now and hibernate until her next season. The birds are all hungry and the flowers want to break through with buds of blossoms. Here is Alice's bird house she made this winter, so pretty with paintings of mushrooms, she has called it 123 Bird Lane and looks forward to birds making a home very soon.

Yummy malteser cake

Here a little look at my daughter's 9th birthday cake that a good friend of mine made for her, it's one of Nigella's delicious ever so calorie laden cakes and almost impossible to resist!

I just love where I live, not only do we have a fabulous stretch of the south coast of England , the De la Warr Pavillion a stunning art deco building with art gallery and theatre but ALSO loads of charity shops to sift and thrift through where lovely vintage finds can be had. This makes me happy with all the recycling and up cycling I can do for various sewing projects I set myself (Alice is also keen to make and do)keeping me/us happy and busy bees...

Birdie bunting

I've been having such fun making bunting over the past 6 weeks or so and have managed to supply 2 delicious shops in Bexhill-on-Sea with samples of my bespoke vintage fabric bunting which I have decided to call "birdie bunting". I think this name came to me after realising that I just love to see and watch birds on wire and imagined that one day little birdies may like to perch on my bunting during a happy outdoor gathering.

This is the very delicate and beautiful brooch which one of my dearest very long time friend had made for me. As I have mentioned before the title of this blog was inspired by the phonetic words from my daughter Alice Rosie's mouth and I couldn't resist sharing this.
It's worn on very special ocassions and only those who are allowed close can see the words x
