Two girls on a rooftop

Wow-wee what a hot Sunday and Monday we've had. Yesterday evening we pootled down to the iconic De la Warr Pavilion {a very fortunate 5 minute walk from our home} to see these beautiful girls crooning their tunes on the roof whilst we slouched in deck chairs and drank a cocktail or two.

The all encompassing and beautiful Hannah Peel with her nostalgic and unique use of a musical box. She's 'one to watch out for in 2011' according to MOJO magazine. She has a wicked sense of humour which appealed to me and then her haunting voice clinched the deal as far as I was concerned.

And the there was the equally beautiful and beseiging lyrics of Laura Groves of the Blue Roses, her music reminded me of Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush and a little Tori Amos.

I closed my eyes for a while and was transported way back to my early and mid-twenties. Wouldn't it be nice just for a week or so to be transported back into your 20's but with all the lessons we've learnt in double those years, a little wiser a little more dis-inhibited, graceful and discerning?

Do listen to the links I've made above and see for yourself if you please. Such a blissful way to end/begin a week xox Thanks for visiting xox

  2. I always tell myself to keep an eye on what's happening at the De La Warr and I rarely do. That would have been smashing to go to - I could kick myself. My boys would have loved it too. Silly me.
