I have had such a great 42nd birthday today. I do love being a May Day baby and it always surprises me as in my head I am "living" in April and then all of a sudden it's May and another cog in my wheel of getting older turns.
I have spoken to family and friends and read cards and eaten cake. I must say that as I get older birthdays are becoming fun again. I went through a spell in my mid 20 & 30's not really bothering but now, maybe because I have our beloved daughter, Alice who gets immensely excited about birthdays and presents, I am really enjoying my birthdays again. She brings colour to my life.
I picked sweet Alice up from her after school Tuesday art lesson that she goes to and there the colours of the day became even more vibrant for me. After a couple of months of planning, placing, cutting and shaping she has made me the most gorgeous mosaic tray. I was so touched by this beautiful gift, the most beautiful ever, tears came and flowed.
Tears of sheer joy at this precious life I have, my wonderful husband and daughter, my family and friends whose lives have touched mine and I theirs. It's good to be able to dedicate a day to this once a year, I am humbled by the love that flows in my simple life.
Thank you my beautiful child, life is by no means dull with you in it xox

ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY PENELOPE :0) and thank you for sharing such a lovely post. Your tray is super special and extremely precious, more than money can buy. You are blessed and, as the old Sunday School chorus said .... count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what God has done.
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed very rich.
May you continue to count blessings and birthdays for years to come.
Best wishes
